The Story of Pennyland Farm

Formerly owned by The Duke of Argyll, Pennyland Farm has, in its time hosted a Mill and a Smithy and been the home of the McDonald Clan in Southend.

Today, the old
farmhouse still stands and is the much loved home of the owners – Susan and Tony Davies.

A fine new extension –
“The Haven” has been built on the site of the Steadings offering high quality self catering en suite holiday accommodation which is open all year.

Pennyland sits in glorious
countryside with breathtaking views in all directions, it is also surrounded by the sea on three sides, so, one can sit in the garden and listen to the sound of Skylarks. watch Deer or Hares playing or follow Buzzards and Hen Harriers overhead and yet, just 5 minutes drive away, we have counted as many as 46 Seals sun bathing on the seashore, an Otter feeding nearby and incredibly, on a clear day you can actually see Ireland from The Haven.

The Kintyre Peninsula is only approximately 40 miles long and 11 miles at its widest with very light traffic – thus, the whole of Kintyre is easily explored from Pennyland Farm and The
Kintyre Trail, if driving, or The Kintyre Way, if walking, are clearly signed with maps and leaflets freely available.

The joy of the drive to The
Mull of Kintyre (The long and winding road) is the variety and quality of the scenery - leave yourself plenty of time because you will want to stop and enjoy the views whichever road you take - the east coast road B842 is softer and gentler with the west coast road A83 following the wild Atlantic rollers breaking right at the edge of the road.

Be sure not to miss the coastal road from
Southend to Campbeltown.

If you enjoy Golf, Walking, Wildlife, Bird Watching, Art, Photography, Cycling, Fishing, Horse Riding, Archaeology, History, Sea Trips, Island Hopping or Whisky Tasting

or:

if you simply wish to relax and unwind in the comfort of your super holiday home, surrounded by glorious countryside and breathtaking views, yet within easy reach of Lochs, Glens, Hills, Rivers, Burns, dozens of unspoilt sandy beaches, hidden coves and a host of islands to explore –

then:

Pennyland Farm is for you!
